What: 3-hour workshop

When: Two opportunities to attend: Wed September 25th @6pm EST and again on Sat September 28th @ 5pm EST

Where: We meet virtually on Zoom (attendees will recieve link prior to the workshop)

Who: This workshop is appropriate for parents, guardians, or any adult raising or working with kids ages 12 to 18

The cost is $45 per person and space is limited.

This Workshop is broken down into 3 main parts:

Adolescent Development:

The physical, emotional, and mental developments that occur during adolescents. This can help adults adjust their communication approach and expectations to better suit the age of the child

Communication Skills:

Review generally effective communication skills, learn neutral ways to approach difficult topics (e.g., social media, substance use, sexual activities, rule-breaking) that often lead to disagreements between adolescents and their adult caregivers. We will discuss and practice some calming strategies to reduce tension and manage your emotions if you notice they’re getting in the way

Seeking Supports:

When (and why) to get outside support from the school and/or community

This 3-hour workshop includes a 10 minute break halfway through our time together.

Once we’ve received your completed registration form you will be emailed an invoice via PayPal, usually within 48 hours. Registration is complete when payment has been processed.


You will then recieve the following by email:

-Confirmation of your registration once payment has been processed

Within 48 of the Workshop's starting time:

You will be emailed a link giving you access to the "Workshop Information Page" of our website. This page will have the Zoom link for the virtual workshop along with the workshop materials in PDF that you can download.

Access to this page remains open to our attendees up to 24 hours after the workshop ends.

Payment Policy:



Once you have submitted your registration form you will be emailed an invoice (via PayPal) for the total cost of the class. This invoice will be sent to the address you provided during registration. Invoices are generally emailed out within 48 hours of registeration.



Once your payment is recieved you will recieve a confirmation email. We cannot hold seats prior to payment.


Cancellation Policy:

-Our workshop allows for a limited number of attendees. For this reason, we request that you cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled workshop begins. This will allow us to offer your spot to another caregiver.

-You may email us at Strivefamilyresources@gmail.com to cancel.



-Refunds will be issued via Paypal, minus any administrative fees associated with processing your refund.




Workshop Materials and Zoom Link:

-48 hours prior to the workshop you will be emailed a link to our "Workshop Information Page."

This page will contain our Workshop Materials (handouts, practice exercises, glossery of terms, etc) as downloadable PDFs, along with the Zoom link to attend the virtual workshop.

Please download the Workshop Material prior to the start of the workshop.

-We ask that attendees sign-in and join the Zoom meeting at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the workshop to ensure there are no technical difficulties on their end and minimize delays or interruptions once we're underway.

Common Zoom issues: Troubleshooting Zoom Meetings

Cameras and Microphones

While not mandatory, most attendees have an easier time engaging with the workshop if they have working cameras. Microphones are optional as text chat is usually available during the workshop.

We may team up to practice skills during the workshop, and a mic is required for this. If you do not have a mic, we encourge you to practice on your own.

Safety in our Space

Strive Family Resources believes all humans deserve to be treated with dignity. We ask that all attendees refrain from making any hate-based, discriminatory remarks and we retain the right to sever contact with anyone who acts inappropriately while engaging with our staff, members of our Advisory Committee, those attending our workshops, or any other human directly or indirectly associated with Strive.

If such behavior occurs during a workshop and you are removed, in person or virtual, you will not receive a refund.
